Clown Pipa

Pipa – teachers and influences: Hans Galli (clown), Jango Edwards (clown), Peter Makal (mime), Ella Jaruselski (mime), Rodziankos (voice and dance), Hillary Bota (dance), Matthew Burton (physical theatre, commedia dell’arte), Carlo Manzoni (commedia dell’arte), Dzidek Starcynowski (mime), Contraband (contact improvisation), San Francisco Mime Troupe, Dell’Arte School (Blue Lake- California).

From 1996- 2011  I lived and worked in Ireland, where I  studied with Macnas  http://www.macnas.com  as well as wrote and directed their first Babaro parade for children

2000-2003 I wrote, performed and toured my show Piparella and the lost colours in 250 different venues around the country promoting  Recycling, sponsored by Agenda 21 and Repak

2003- 2009 I worked on the realisation of the Galway Circus Project.. An Sorcas Beag … the first dedicated youthcircus in the Republic of Ireland… during this time I achieved to get funding from HSE, Pobal, Arts Council, City and County Galway for this work … We also were invited to the international youth circus project in Berlin, where we represented the Republic of Ireland for the first time in history. We also initiated cross border work with BCC and participated in collaboration with Circus Gerbola in the Volvo Ocean Race.  In 2009 the project was ready to be passed to a new project manager and I started to look for new tasks, as well as leaving Ireland for new ventures in Germany and Italy.

2010: I produced 2 shows Sorcas Quircas (mobile circus show… out of THE VAN :0) – Summerproduction   and Momo’s Dream a UV Light Show about the value of time – Winterproduction

2011:I take bookings for Walkabouts including Balloons and interactive facepainting as well as for touring Sorcas Quircas or Momo

2012: first shows in Germany and translation of Piparella and the lost colours into italian.

2013: Retrospective  about her work in Dublin – Centre for creative practise . Part of the series Migrant Artists on Ireland funded by the Arthur Guiness Fund….http://clownpipa.com/2013/05/views-of-a-clownin/ …views of a clownin.

Sorcas Quircas moved to Leipzig and a new touring show is in preparation.
